The short version
Be kind, post only what you have the right to share, stay safe when you’re out exploring, and remember that place details come from third parties and may not always be right. You own what you post; you give us permission to show it in Bucket. Any paid features are billed by Apple or Google.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and The Truth Organization LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”), which operates the Bucket mobile app and this website (together, “Bucket” or the “Service”). Please read them carefully. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these Terms.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account, downloading the app, or otherwise using Bucket, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Bucket.
2. Who can use Bucket
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Bucket. Bucket is not directed to children under 13.
- If you are under the age of legal majority where you live (18 in most US states), you may use Bucket only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
- You may not use Bucket if you have been barred from it before, or if using it would break the law where you live.
3. Your account
- Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity on your account, so tell us right away at support@gotbucket.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
- One person per account. Don’t create an account for someone else or impersonate anyone.
- You can delete your account at any time from within the app. What happens to your data when you do is explained in our Privacy Policy.
4. Your content
“Your content” means anything you add to Bucket: Buckets, Pins, notes, reviews, ratings, photos, comments, and profile details.
- You own it. You keep all ownership rights in your content.
- The permission you give us. So we can run the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example, resize a photo), and distribute your content within Bucket, and to show it to the people you choose to share it with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people have already saved or shared, content in group Buckets that other members still use, and backups we keep for a limited time or where the law requires.
- You’re responsible for it. You promise you have the rights to everything you post, and that it doesn’t break these Terms or anyone else’s rights.
- We may remove it. We don’t review everything posted, but we may remove or restrict content that we believe breaks these Terms or the law.
5. Acceptable use
Bucket is for saving and sharing places you love. When you use it, you agree not to:
- Post anything illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent, or anything that exploits or endangers minors.
- Bully, stalk, or intimidate other people, or share someone’s private information (such as their home address or real-time location) without their permission.
- Post content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- Impersonate any person or business, or misrepresent your connection to them.
- Send spam, chain messages, or unwanted invitations, or use Bucket for unauthorised advertising.
- Upload viruses or malicious code, or try to hack, overload, or disrupt the Service.
- Scrape, crawl, or collect data from Bucket by automated means, or access it other than through our app and website.
- Copy, reverse-engineer, or resell any part of the Service, except where the law expressly allows it.
- Help or encourage anyone else to do any of the above.
6. Reviews and photos
- Reviews and ratings should reflect your own honest, first-hand experience of a place.
- Don’t post fake reviews, review your own business or a competitor’s, or accept payment or freebies in exchange for a review without saying so.
- Only upload photos you took yourself or have permission to use. Respect the privacy of people who appear in your photos.
- Reviews and photos reflect the opinions of the people who post them, not ours. We don’t endorse or verify them.
- In group Buckets, reviews and ratings from members may be combined into a group score that all members can see.
7. Sharing, group Buckets, and following
- You choose who sees what. When you share a Bucket or make it visible to others, the people who can see it may view the places, notes, reviews, and photos in it.
- Group Buckets. You can invite people to join a group Bucket. Members can add to it and see what others add. Only invite people you know and who want to be invited.
- Following. Other users may be able to follow you and see your profile and the content you have chosen to make visible. You can manage this in the app.
- Once you share content with others, they may have already seen or saved it, even if you later delete it.
8. Location features and safety
- Some features, such as nearby place alerts, use your device’s location if you allow it. Location access is optional, and you can turn it off at any time in your device settings. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- Stay safe. Don’t use Bucket while driving or in any way that distracts you from your surroundings. Obey traffic laws and local rules, respect private property, and use common sense when visiting places, especially places you find through other users.
- Place information may be wrong. Place names, addresses, hours, photos, maps, and directions come partly from third parties (such as Google Maps Platform) and from other users. They may be out of date, incomplete, or inaccurate. Check important details, such as opening hours or accessibility, before you go.
- Notifications and alerts depend on your device, its settings, and network coverage, and may be delayed or not arrive at all. Don’t rely on Bucket for anything where timing or accuracy is critical.
9. Notifications
With your permission, Bucket sends push notifications, for example nearby place alerts, group Bucket invitations, and activity from people you follow. You can change or turn off notifications at any time in the app or in your device settings.
10. Free plan, subscriptions, and in-app purchases
- Bucket currently offers a free plan. We may add optional paid features or subscriptions in the future. If we do, we will show the price and what is included before you buy.
- Billing by Apple and Google. Purchases made in the app are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, using the payment method on your Apple or Google account. Their terms of sale apply to the purchase.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your Bucket account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. We can’t process refunds for purchases made through their stores.
- We may change prices or features of paid plans. Price changes for existing subscriptions will follow Apple’s and Google’s rules, including any advance notice they require.
11. Third-party services and links
Bucket relies on, and may link to, services we don’t control, such as Google Maps Platform, Google Firebase, the Apple App Store, Google Play, and websites of the places you save. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We aren’t responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
12. Our intellectual property
Bucket, including the app, website, design, logos, and the name “Bucket”, belongs to The Truth Organization LLC or its licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms. Please don’t use our name or logos without our written permission.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely without paying you or owing you anything.
13. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on Bucket infringes your copyright, email support@gotbucket.com with: a description of the work, where the content appears in Bucket, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove the content and, for repeat infringers, close their accounts.
14. Suspension and termination
- You can stop using Bucket and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close your account, or limit your access, if you break these Terms, if we must do so by law, or if your use creates risk or harm for other users or for us. Where reasonable, we will tell you and give you a chance to respond.
- We may change, pause, or stop offering all or part of the Service. If we shut Bucket down entirely, we will try to give you reasonable notice so you can save your information.
- Sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends (such as ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will continue to apply.
15. Disclaimers
Bucket is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We don’t promise that Bucket will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that place information, reviews, or other content will be accurate or reliable. You use places you find through Bucket at your own risk; we are not responsible for the places themselves, or for your interactions with other users or businesses.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, The Truth Organization LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of Bucket, even if we were told such damages were possible.
Our total liability for any claim relating to Bucket is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US $100.
Some places don’t allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
17. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of your content, your use of Bucket, or your breach of these Terms or of the law, you agree to defend and compensate us for the resulting losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or Bucket will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida, and you and we consent to those courts’ jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please contact us at support@gotbucket.com so we can try to resolve it informally. If you live outside the United States, you may also have rights under the laws of your country that these Terms can’t override.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using Bucket after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don’t agree, please stop using Bucket and delete your account.
20. Additional terms for Apple users
If you downloaded Bucket from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
- These Terms are between you and The Truth Organization LLC only, not Apple Inc. (“Apple”). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Bucket and its content.
- Your licence to use the app is limited to use on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) you paid for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses due to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility, to the extent not disclaimed in these Terms.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Please direct any questions, complaints, or claims about the app to us using the contact details below.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. When you accept these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
21. Data sources and attributions
Bucket uses third-party data sources for some features, including country, state and city lists and place information. Where a data source requires attribution, it is credited here.
- Maps and place information. Google Maps Platform.
Third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners, and their use does not imply endorsement of Bucket.
22. General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about Bucket. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a provision right away, we haven’t waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
